We're looking for STRENGTH Instructors who are exceptional coaches first. They combine technical expertise, intentional programming, and authentic connection to create a safe, challenging, and inspiring experience for every client. Beyond the studio floor, they are professionals, teammates, and leaders who help strengthen the B/SPOKE community.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Role: Part-Time STRENGTH Instructor
Location Priority: Wellesley (all class times); Downtown Boston (AM & weekend availability preferred)
B/SPOKE STRENGTH Instructors lead dynamic, strength-based group fitness classes that prioritize movement quality, progressive programming, and exceptional coaching. They create an environment where clients feel welcomed, challenged, supported, and empowered while delivering a consistent B/SPOKE experience in every class.

You are a coach first. You understand how to teach movement, not just demonstrate it, and you're passionate about helping clients build confidence through strength training.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Before applying, please confirm that you meet the minimum eligibility requirements below.
Minimum Eligibility
- At least 1 year of experience teaching strength-based group fitness classes
- Preferred: Certified Personal Trainer through an accredited organization (NASM, ACE, NSCA, ACSM, ISSA, or equivalent)
- Have taken at least 10 B/SPOKE STRENGTH classes within the past 6 months. Exceptions may be considered at the discretion of the B/SPOKE Recruitment & Training Team.
What We’re Looking For:
- Technical Expertise: You have a strong understanding of strength training principles and movement mechanics. You coach proper form, alignment, and technique with confidence, prioritize safety without sacrificing challenge, and know how to modify and progress movements for clients of varying experience levels.
- Programming & Class Design: You create thoughtful, progressive programming that balances challenge, accessibility, and variety. You understand how to sequence movements with intention, manage intensity throughout class, and build workouts that leave clients feeling successful while supporting long-term progression.
- Coaching & Leadership: You are a coach first. You communicate with clarity, deliver purposeful cueing, and create an environment where clients feel motivated, supported, and confident. You lead with professionalism, presence, and authenticity while fostering connection with every class you teach.
- Culture & Team Contribution: You represent the B/SPOKE brand with integrity both inside and outside the studio. You're reliable, collaborative, and open to feedback, recognizing that great instructors never stop learning. You contribute positively to our instructor community and are committed to creating an inclusive experience where every client feels welcomed and empowered.
AVAILABILITY & SCHEDULING EXPECTATIONS
Successful candidates are expected to:
- Be available to teach a minimum of 4 permanent classes per week (required)
- Maintain regular weekend availability for permanent and subbed classes (preferred)
- Contribute actively to additional schedule opportunities, including subbing
- Communicate proactively regarding scheduling, availability, and commitments
TRAINING & ONBOARDING EXPECTATIONS
Up to 30 hours over 6–8 weeks.
Training will occur primarily on weekday evenings and weekends. Flexibility availability is required. Anticipated training window: August 20th - October 11th (2026).
Training will include a combination of:
- Asynchronous virtual learning & manual work
- in-person coaching
- practice teaching
- mentorship
During Training you'll be expected to
- attend every session
- complete homework on time
- attend a minimum of 2 B/SPOKE STRENGTH classes/week
- practice independently
- travel between studios
HIRING PROCESS:

- Final demo class
An invitation to training does not guarantee placement on the STRENGTH instructor team. Final placement is contingent upon performance throughout training, successful completion of the final demo class, and readiness to deliver the B/SPOKE experience.
